Despite a very minimal online presence, yes! Dispensaries are open in Louisiana.
When Louisiana passed its medical marijuana program, it chose to zone the state into 9 sections for dispensaries with two total cultivators.
The 9 Louisiana dispensaries are spread out across the state in such a way to provide access to people living in each part of the state, while only two cultivators are tasked with keeping up production for those 9 stores.
The two cultivators are Louisiana State University and Southern University, who have hired contractors that are tasked with growing and supplying cannabis products to the 9 corresponding stores.
There is also a provision available to provide for a 10th store that can be built on an as-needed basis, provided the state deems it a necessity.
Where are Dispensaries in Louisiana?
Finding a dispensary in Louisiana is a little trickier than in other states.
For whatever reason, there is very limited information online about Louisiana dispensaries, and as of right now, no online menus or available product information for Louisiana dispensaries are accessible.
However, as stores build a better online presence, we’ll make sure to keep an updated list of dispensaries in Louisiana when there is better information available.
For now, the dispensaries seem to be sticking to a brick-and-mortar approach, while keeping their online presence to a minimum.

Region 4 ~ Acadian - The Apothecary Shoppe, LLC d/b/a The Apothecary Shoppe, to be located at 620 Guilbeau Road, Suite A in Lafayette, La. 70506-8709.
Region 5 ~ Southwest - Medicis, LLC d/b/a Medicis, to be located at 1727 Imperial Blvd., Building 4 in Lake Charles, La. 70605-5362.

Do Dispensaries Deliver Medical Marijuana in Louisiana?
Yes! Some dispensaries do deliver medical marijuana in Louisiana, but not every dispensary does.
While certain dispensaries in more metropolitan areas like H & W Drug Store in New Orleans offer delivery, other dispensaries such as Capitol Wellness in Baton Rouge do not offer delivery options, so it’s best to call ahead to make sure.
Each dispensary may have different requirements for deliveries, such as minimum purchases, a delivery fee, and specific dates and locations for available delivery slots.
In most cases for getting medical marijuana delivered in Louisiana, you’ll need to place your order at least a day before the scheduled delivery route and pay a small delivery fee.
And with smokable cannabis flower being added to the Louisiana menu in 2022, home delivery will be a great option for patients looking to avoid big crowds or heavy traffic at their local dispensary!
