On Tuesday, September 20th, the state of Louisiana announced their new taskforce, dedicated to researching other state’s medical marijuana programs. This could be a great thing for Louisiana medical marijuana patients.
Louisiana dispensaries offer a variety of products, but there are some products they do not offer that other states do. For example, marijuana vapes are not currently available for purchase in the state. This is something that the task-force could look into and eventually offer to patients.
The taskforce will also study ways other states are preventing employee discrimination for marijuana patients. This is extremely important for patients to educate themselves on in order to protect themselves as much as possible.
Louisiana officials also want to learn more about options as far as testing employees who are marijuana patients. The main focus of the taskforce will be all things work and marijuana related.
The creation of the taskforce signifies more progress for the state’s medical marijuana program and the patients who benefit from it. The fact that the state is taking steps to ensure protection for cannabis patients is a step in a positive direction, and hopefully many other states will follow in their footsteps!
